Friday Afternoon Walk

Information about the Friday afternoon walk

There are two walks planned

Short walk either a tour of the city sights (2miles) or the sculpture trail (3 miles); final choice still to be decided. If we have enough respondents, we maybe able to get a guide to take us round the city, but there will be a charge of £7.50 each; minimum numbers 10). If you want to, it will be easy to leave the walk and go and look round other parts of Canterbury such as the tea shops!
Long walk this will be a walk to the seaside at the coastal town of Whitstable along the course of the Crab and Winkle Way. This follows the course of the first passenger railway in the world, through the Kentish countryside. Once at Whitstable there will be plenty of time to walk round town, go to the beach,  buy seafood or a cup of tea and a bun etc
Travel to the start and end of the  short walk and return from the long walk will be by public  transport (bus) that runs approximately every 10 minutes, so please bring some cash or a contactless payment card. Travel details and guides will be provided on the day.
The weather forecast is currently warm but cloudy with little rain.
