How to deposit software

Instructions on how to deposit software.

CCPN will make your software available on our web site. The copyright and right to distribute your software remains with you. It is also up to you to take care of help, maintenance and debugging of your software, if you wish to do so. At the moment your software will be distributed only to CCPN members, under the temporary CCPN license. The expiry date for the temporary license may be extended from time to time, until a permanent license is decided on. Contributors will be informed before the permanent license is adopted. As a guide to our intentions, you may compare the previous CCPN license (NOTE this license is not in force).

Depositions should be mailed to ccpn@bioc.cam.ac.uk. For deposition your software must be in a tarred, gzipped file (myname.tar.gz). It should have a name that reflects both your name and the deposition date, and it should expand into a single directory (myname). You should also prepare a deposition data file named _deposition_data describing the software, in accordance with the example file.
