Kim Henrick. Macromolecular Structure Database (MSD), European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), Hinxton, UK.

General information

The EBI Macromolecular Structure Database is the European project for the collection, management and distribution of data about macromolecular structures, derived in part from the Protein Data Bank (PDB). The MSD group is the European part of the wwPDB.

The MSD group has an NMR component, and is involved in the Extend-NMR project for two main reasons:

  • Setting up data resources for testing the developed software
  • Analysing existing NMR data on a large scale to provide information for the developed software

Workpackages

The MSD group is the coordinator of workpackage 5 (Testing, validation and documentation), and is involved in workpackages 1 and 3.
