Ernest Laue. Biochemistry department, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK.
General information
The Laue group has been working at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge, for close on two decades (see our Home Page). Our main interest in structural biology, with a special interest in proteins relevant for the treatment of cancer. Our principal tool is NMR spectroscopy, but we also use X-ray crystallography and mass spectroscopy. We are the main participants in the CCPN project for data standardisation, common data models and software collaboration in structural biology / NMR spectroscopy. Our most important research lines are:
Chromatin mediated transcriptional repression
Structure studies of protein kinases and inhibitor design
Structural studies of membrane proteins
Macromolecular NMR data standards and software (CCPN)
Workpackages
The Laue group is the coordinator of Workpackage 3 (software integration), and is contributing to Workpackages 1 (Extraction of data from NMR spectra) and 2 (Assignment). Being the grant coordinators and reponsible for software integration we are involved in all the workpackages to some extent.
