Fifth annual CCPN conference
NMR and molecular interaction
The fifth CCPN meeting will be held on 19th-21st August 2005 at St. Martins College, Ambleside, Cumbria, (http://www.ucsm.ac.uk/).
The prospective title of the meeting is "NMR and molecular interaction with sub-topics of protein production, aggregation, NMR techniques on molecular complexes, protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid complexes, case studies andcomplementary non-NMR techniques.
The meeting will be the fifth in a series modeled on the annual CCP4 study weekend for X-ray Crystallography. The aims of these meetings are to present current best practice for all aspects of macromolecular structure determination by NMR. The meeting is particularly aimed at PhD students and PostDocs, (mainly in the UK Biomolecular NMR community) and we have invited speakers who can discuss in detail the pros and cons of the different approaches that they are using. Through discussion, we hope to come up with ideas as to how future NMR structural projects might best be tackled.
CCPN wants to encourage everyone to come and we will provide accommodation and meals for all UK participants from non-profit-making organisations. We hope that attendees will be able to find their own transport costs to the meeting.
We plan to hold three sessions of about four speakers each, with ample time for discussion, over the course of the meeting, and will also include time for a poster session. This year the meeting will be held in Ambleside again, which is in the Lake District, a very attractive part of the country. We also, therefore, plan to organize some nice walks.
Registration is now open
There will be a registration fee of GBP 50.00 per person (GBP 25 for those presenting a poster, which will be limited to 55 posters). Registration will close at the beginning of July.
Additional accommodation (B&B) is available the night before and after the meeting, this will not be covered by the CCPN and is offered at a cost of GBP 27.00 per person per night, payable in advance.
The CCPN (Collaborative Computing Project in NMR) is a project funded by the UK BBSRC with the aim of establishing data formats, promoting production, sharing and interfacing of software, and arranging meetings and seminars on best practice, in the domain of macromolecular NMR spectroscopy.
We look forward to seeing you in Ambleside.
